For 26 years, Dan has provided reputable, incomparable investment banking services to the auto aftermarket. As a result, he has established himself as “the guy” to call, a respected expert with whom automotive industry stakeholders connect when they seek a successful deal with optimized results.

Dan has irrefutably closed more auto aftermarket deals than any other investment banker. Due to his diverse transaction portfolio, he has “touched” virtually every conceivable part of automobiles, light trucks and heavy duty trucks.

With such extensive experience in Mergers and Acquisitions, as well as all aspects of corporate management, Dan serves as a frequent consultant to Government and Industry, and he is a nationally recognized authority in the Automotive Aftermarket industry.

In addition to his unrivaled auto aftermarket expertise, Dan has demonstrated proven success across a variety of other industries, including recreation, sporting goods and building products.

Dan holds his FINRA Series 79 and 63 securities licenses.

Jennifer Amann

Vice President & Controller

Utilizing her more than 20 years of accounting and office management experience, Jennifer oversees Capstone’s administration and financial reporting. Her responsibilities include the monitoring of the firm’s vast proprietary database and its virtual data room. Jennifer interacts with all of Capstone’s clients in accumulating and organizing client documentation in the cloud-based data storage system, and she monitors compliance with the relevant securities licensure. Jennifer is a graduate of Vanderbilt University.

Kimberley Elkins

Vice President

Now in her fourth year at Capstone, Kim oversees all of Capstone’s operations, particularly regarding the firm’s penetration of the auto tech ecosystem in Silicon Valley. As both Detroit and Capstone migrate to the Valley, Kim is responsible for analyzing the new “modules” that will comprise the autonomous cars of tomorrow and mapping their sub-assemblies. Importantly, she is also charged with identifying the opportunities for the consolidation of the new supply chains. Kim studied English Literature at Clemson University.

Carl Norman

 Managing Director


Carl is a certified public accountant with more than forty years of experience in public, private and non-profit organizations ranging from manufacturing companies to hospitality firms to software developers. His background includes Big Four accounting firms, IPOs, Private Placements, Venture Capital, Private Equity, Sale-Leasebacks, Chapter 11 workouts and healthcare turnarounds. He is involved in Capstone’s client and industry research, financial statement review, CIM preparation, management presentation preparation, financial statement review and back office deal support. Carl was formerly Senior Vice President of Finance and CFO of CSX Resorts. He was also an Adjunct Professor of Finance at the University of Memphis. Carl is a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology and earned an MBA from the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina.

Tim Yoder

Director of Research


Tim is a seasoned researcher and is responsible for the data and functionality of Capstone’s thousands of entries in its specially designed database focused on the automotive aftermarket industry. He organizes research parameters for Capstone’s clients and sales processes, monitors data reporting, tracks precedent transactions, maintains an exclusive list of the firm’s worldwide prospects and meticulously screens the automotive portfolio holdings of private equity firms, organizing them according to industry segment and acquisition date. Prior to his activities with Capstone, Tim was a Database Editor and Manager for CQ Roll Call in Washington, DC. He is a graduate of the University of Delaware.
